• The U.N. "Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues" will hold its 9th session at U.N. Headquarters from 19 - 30 April.
  
  

• A number of selected new Directors of U.N. Information Centres will be in New York for a thorough briefing around the end of April.
  
  

• International Day for Free and Varied Press will be commemorated 3 May. Along with other gatherings, the U.N. Department of Public Information will hold a seminar on media in South East Asia.
