  • The July session of the Economic and Social Council in Geneva will most likely miss the Secretary General, who habitually opens it. To have to be absent from one of his favourite cities means he has something more pressing.

  • More names of candidates for Secretary General will be stirring to be declared end July early August. The Security Council will be dutifully looking at them while awaiting more.

  • Delegations will be approaching the Office of General Assembly Affairs to make sure that their president has an early slot to speak at the opening of the General Assembly Debate in September.
