A controversy about a "swing space" to accomodate U.N. staff while the
current premises gets renovated is yet to clear. New suggestions, new key players, and
generally clear guidance is awaiting a definitive decision.

The one hundredth birthday of Secretary General Dag Hammerskjold on
29 July will be celebrated at his usual summer house in South Sweden. The Secretary General
and Nane Annan will be there.

The seating by alphabetical order in the General Assembly is decided each
year through a lottery. The Secretary General is expected to draw the winning first name for
the next session by July.
