  • Campaigning for seats in the newly-formed U.N. Human Rights Council will be heating up. Asia in particular has six countries fighting over four seats. Expect more cocktail parties, lunches, and dinners.

  • An evacuation centre for those needing international protection will be created in Romania, according to a signed agreement between its government and UNHCK. It will be the first of its kind in Europe.

  • More emergency assistance efforts will focus on pressuring the authoritarian power in Myanmar to allow overwhelming contributions world-wide to help at least 1.5 million seriously effected by the recent cyclone.
