A proposed meeting of Arab editors invited by UN headquarters is scheduled
for 2 - 7 November. Something to do with the "image" problem. However,
it may be delayed until early next year.

UN Correspondents Association annual dinner, resumed this year, will be
held on 22 October. The Secretary-General will be presenting the honours.
A noted guest will be actress Angelina Jolie who helped children around
the world the past two years. Expect one or two surprises in the awards.

UN Day will be celebrated on 24 October. It remains to be seen what sort of
event will be prepared for the occasion, particularly after the tragic death
of colleagues in Baghdad.
