• The 71st session of the General Assembly will hold its general debate the third week of September with Heads of State attending. There will be a number of high level meetings on varied issues. The main interest most likely will be the election of the new Secretary-General.

• With an outgoing Secretary-General, several New York-based diplomats will be seriously exploring options of remaining at UN Headquarters in a senior capacity.

• Global Development Concept will be held in Central Park at the same time the General Assembly begins its new session. Many popular artists such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Rihanna, the former Cat Stephens (aka Yusuf Islam) and Kanye West. Standing room only - plan ahead.
