Consistent erosion of teamwork is reflected in decisions to transfer joint office collaboration into individual open space. By now, there are floors where any employee could take a seat and work on his or her own, regardless of relevance to a nearby colleague, each one operating individually. To those who dedicated their careers to work collaboratively with others toward common goals at the United Nations, such a trend seemed like a continuation of a persistent effort to undercut the concept of teamwork, a basic requirement of International Civil Servants.
